South Bend limestone member--The South Bend limestone is the uppermost member of the Stanton limestone. It lies conformably upon the Rock Lake shale and conformably beneath the Weston shale. It is a dark-gray to blue fine-grained limestone which occurs in beds more than 3 inches thick.
